Potential candidates that are looking for a job as a truck driver are the candidates that become leads through one of our marketing funnels. The main platform where we place the leads or the core of our company and recruitment process is our CRM’s Vtiger/Tenstreet. We use the platform to track, make follow ups, send emails, text messages, etc.
The lead can have the following basic info:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Location (State, zip)
- Driving experience
- Driving position he is interested in.
They can come from the following sources:
- Social media
Facebook is the most common social media platform for lead generation where candidates can simply apply on an advert by entering their basic info (short form application).
- Job boards
A job board is a website where employers can go to advertise their open positions and job seekers can go to search for open positions. In the trucking industry we have 2 types of job board leads.
- Multicarrier lead: lead that is shared with 2 or more carriers, for example up to 15 carriers can share the same lead. This type of lead needs faster process and first contact due to the high volume of calls the prospect/lead will have in a single day or for drip marketing.
- Dedicated Lead: this type of lead is dedicated for one carrier matching the specific needs for the position available.
- Web site/Landing Pages
Candidates that visit the Website and/or Landing Pages and leave basic info to be contacted for a specific position.
- Inbound Call
Candidates that call directly the office number, looking for more information about specific jobs or offers.
- Cold Call
Cold calling is a technique in which a salesperson/recruiter contacts individuals who have not previously expressed interest in the offered products, services or jobs.
- Referral
Candidates that got interested in a carrier by talking to one of their drivers or staff. Usually carriers have referral programs built for their fleets. Referrals are a key leading source for every carrier.
- Other
Purchased leads from other sources, Online advertising, Newspapers, Events etc.
The purpose for the marketing department is to work on these lead sources and create a steady lead generation.
Lead generation begins by creating an interest for jobs with marketing campaigns, promotions, postings, ads etc.
They are designed with the intention to attract the targeted audience, inform them about the offers and how they will benefit if they join and provide them with “call-to-action” forms so they can send their basic information in order to be contacted.
As soon as they send their contact information, these fresh leads are immediately placed on Vtiger/Tenstreer and assigned to a recruiter.
